CONSTRUCTION DIRECTIONS

Please note that the city of Richmond is undergoing immense construction and Mapquest may not be reliable. Please consider the following suggested directions:

• Arriving from the north or west: Note that if you exit at #149A (Williamsburg Pike) at I-70, you will find the road closed as you enter Richmond. We recommend that those traveling from the north and west exit I-70 at U.S. 27 (exit #151.) Proceed south on U.S. 27 (also under major construction -- sorry!). The road will go downhill. At the bottom of the hill you will find a traffic light at the corner of U.S. 27 (Chester Blvd.) and Sim Hodgin Parkway. The old Richmond hospital will be to your left. Turn right on Sim Hodgin Parkway and proceed to the second stop light at the top of the hill. Proceed through the stoplight onto SW 1st Street. Follow SW 1st to SW D Street. Turn right on SW D street. (There will be an Earlham College sign with an arrow to the right in front of you.) Proceed on SW D Street and enter the Earlham College campus at the D Street entrance. Follow the signs for Seminary parking (two right turns.) The Bethany and ESR buildings will be ahead of you beyond the parking lot.

• Arriving from the east: Those coming to Richmond on I-70 east can choose to follow the above directions or exit at #156 A and follow US 40 through Richmond. Those choosing to drive through Richmond, please note that there is also major construction on US 40 near the campus. Left turns onto College Avenue and into Bethany's small parking lot on the National Road side of the building (in other words, for those traveling from east to west) are often prohibited and you will be ticketed if caught! If you wish to travel US 40, I suggest turning left into the Marsh Supermarket parking lot at the corner of US 40 and SW 5th Street. Proceed through the parking lot to SW C Street. Turn right on SW C Street, and then left on SW D Street. Proceed one block to the Earlham College D Street entrance. Proceed as noted above to the Seminary parking lot.

• Flying to Bethany: The Dayton [Ohio] International Airport - 40 miles to the east - is the regional airport closest to Bethany's main campus. Another option is the Indianapolis International Airport located 75 miles west of campus.
