Joshua Brockway Accepts Church of the Brethren Staff Position

Joshua BrockwayJoshua Brockway, instructor in Brethren Studies at Bethany Theological Seminary, has accepted the call of director of Spiritual Life and Discipleship for the Church of the Brethren, beginning January 4, 2010. His responsibilities will include developing spiritual growth and discipling resources for congregations, supporting pastors and other church leaders in nurturing the spiritual lives of congregations and individuals, working collaboratively with the Spiritual Directors Network, advocating for healthy congregations through interpretation of the denomination's congregational ethics guidelines, cultivating gender-focused ministries, and fostering spiritual growth of individuals, congregations, and the church as a whole.

Joshua's employment at Bethany will conclude on December 31, 2009. He will teach History of Christianity I as an online course during the fall semester of the 2009-2010 academic year. "We thank Josh for his service to Bethany as a teacher and colleague and wish him well in his new position," said Richard Gardner, interim academic dean.
