Bethany's Commencement is Saturday, May 8

Bethany Theological Seminary will celebrate its 105th commencement on Saturday, May 8. The occasion will be marked with two observances. A ceremony for conferring degrees will take place in Bethany's Nicarry Chapel, 615 National Road West, at 10:00 a.m. Attendance is limited to graduates and guests by invitation. At 2:30 p.m., a public worship celebration planned by the graduates will be held at Nicarry Chapel.

Ted Flory of Bridgewater, Virginia, and chair of the Seminary's board of trustees, will give the address at the academic ceremony titled "An Incarnational Education." Scott Holland, professor of theology and culture and director of peace studies and cross- cultural studies, will share a message titled "We Live Only What We Imagine" at the worship service.

The board of trustees approved ten students for graduation at their March board meeting, pending completion of their academic requirements. Those approved to receive a Master of Divinity degree are Barbara Leininger Dickason, Frederick, Md., Seth D. Hendricks, Englewood, Ohio; Judith A. Hollandsworth, Parker City, Ind.; Roland Dale Johnson, Live Oak, Calif.; Denton Eugene Krietz, Thurmont, Md.; Travis Edward Turner Poling, Richmond, Ind.; Rebecca Oliver Rhodes, Roanoke, Va.; and Joseph Campbell Tolton, Midland, Mich. Tracy Ann Stoddart of Dayton, Ohio, was approved for a Master of Divinity with emphases in peace studies and youth and young adult ministry. Laura Kelsey of Carmel, Ind., was approved for a Certificate of Achievement in Theological Studies.
