Commencement 2020 Postponed

Bethany Theological Seminary President Jeff Carter has announced that commencement activities, previously scheduled for May 8-9, 2020, have been postponed due to concerns about the coronavirus. The seminary has not yet announced new dates, but the event will likely be held in the fall.

“All of us in your Bethany community are disappointed that we will not be able to formally celebrate the amazing accomplishments of our graduating students as originally planned,” noted Carter in an email sent to graduates.

“The health and safety of our Bethany and Richmond community is very important to us. This global pandemic has caused us all to pause and reflect on what we must do for our own good, as well as the good of our neighbor.”

The Bethany Seminary leadership continues to carefully monitor news reports about the pandemic and will work with the faculty and graduating students to plan an appropriate celebration of the graduates at a later date.
