In the years that we had a weekly Peace Forum on campus at Bethany, this position required more hours and weekly responsibilities. Now, we have moved to the sponsorship of occasional, larger Peace Forums and other peace studies programming and events. Thus, the responsibilities and hours are more focused into blocks of time throughout the year.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Work in concert with the Director of Peace Studies to plan, organize and host occasional peace forums and related peace studies programming events and activities during the course of the academic year at BTS.

Work in concert with the Director of Peace Studies to plan and organize BTS-ESR student off-campus outings to peace related events in the region: Indianapolis, Dayton, Cincinnati, etc.

Assist the Director of Peace Studies in occasional public relations, promotions, and communications relative to the BTS Peace Studies program.

Skills Required:
  • Interest in and knowledge of peace studies in general and of our BTS program in particular.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Flexibility in giving focused blocks of time to the position throughout the academic year since the programming is no longer weekly but occasional.
