Federal Work Study
Serve as a tutor for strengthening the writing skills of seminary students. Work with students in need, moving them toward independence as writers. The focus will be on improvement of skills rather than the writing of particular assignments. The Writing Coach will not focus on content or theological corrections
Meet with students who are recommended by the teaching faculty or the Director of Student Development. They will use previously written papers by the student in need to note patterns needing change. The Writing Coach will help the student identify and understand these patterns and to learn stronger writing skills. They will use actual assignments for working with students in order to note improvement. The Writing Coach is not a theological or ministry tutor, and will not recommend changes to the content of any papers.
Outstanding writing skills. Ability to encourage. Ability to name shortcomings. Ability to remain focused as a tutor and not become a content editor.
