Reportable to: Director, Brethren Academy for Ministerial Leadership
Description: The Coordinator of English-Language Ministry Training Programs will work directly with the Director of the Brethren Academy for Ministerial Leadership to coordinate current and future English-Language ministry training and development programs for the Church of the Brethren through the Brethren Academy. This is a half-time, salaried position.
Duties and Tasks (included but not limited to):
Daily:
•Respond to emails or phone calls from various individuals and institutional partners connected with the English-language ministry training programs
Weekly/monthly-as needed:
•Work with students, district coordinators, and supervising pastors to provide guidance in all areas of TRIM and EFSM
•Organize all details for both onsite and online courses
•Discuss the details of the TRIM and EFSM programs with prospective students
Quarterly:
•Contribute to the Brethren Academy newsletter
Bi-Annually:
•Review student transcripts twice a year for distribution
•Update TRIM/EFSM notebooks, directory, etc.
Annually:
•Report students’ progress to district leadership
•Coordinate orientation for TRIM and EFSM students
•Participate in Annual Conference activities
•Attend 1-2 events related to the administration of the TRIM and EFSM programs
As Needed:
Meet with students or coordinators/supervising pastors in the locations where they live.This position may provide the opportunity to teach a course for the Brethren Academy, given program needs and the candidate’s interest and educational background.

Skills and Knowledge Required:
• Well-grounded in Church of the Brethren heritage, theology, and polity
• Able to articulate and operate out of the vision of Bethany Seminary and the Church of the Brethren
• Able to relate with integrity and respect within and beyond the organization
• Strong interpersonal skills that contribute to effective interaction
• Skilled in oral and written communication
• Skilled in developing educational experiences in ministry training
• The ability to network and problem solve in creative ways
• Administrative skills-critical thinking skills-basic computer and internet skills
• An ability to work with people from a variety of backgrounds who have varied understandings of the church
• An ability to multitask and set priorities
Accountability:
• Engage in phone and Zoom conversations with the Academy director
• Participate in regular reviews of the English-Language Training Programs
Experience:
• Five years of effective leadership in pastoral ministry
• Ordination and active membership in the Church of the Brethren
Education:
• Master of Divinity degree preferred
• Successful completion of a ministry training program required
• A record of regular continuing education experiences
Location:
• Relocation is not required. Home location is negotiable, but candidates must be willing to travel, as needed, to fulfill job expectations.
• Brethren Academy offices are located at Bethany Theological Seminary, Richmond, IN.
• The Bethany Employee Handbook will govern terms of employment.
