The research assistant will work with Dan Ulrich on a book that is tentatively titled Gospel Visions for Troubled Times. The assistant will help Dan practice communal hermeneutics in a series of recorded interviews that feature the voices of interpreters who have experienced marginalization in the past. Management of details to prepare for the recording of interviews and subsequent processing of the recordings are the initial core of this assignment.
Assist with scheduling and logistics to record interviews on Zoom. Prepare corrected transcripts of interviews. Assist with editing video or audio recordings as needed by Dan Ulrich and Paul Shaver. Assist with correspondence related to permissions for use of materials in the book and for making interviews public. Assist (eventually) with proofreading and indexing for the book. Meet with Dan by Zoom to communicate about tasks. Oher duties as assigned.
Word processing using Microsoft Word. Digital correspondence with interviewees and others involved in the project. Accurate attention to detail. Ability to edit digital video or audio files or to liaison with others who will do the technical work.
