Scott Holland

Professional Biographical Sketch:

Scott Holland has pastored metropolitan congregations of the Church of the Brethren and the Mennonite Church, USA. He divides his time between Richmond, Indiana, Yellow Springs, Ohio and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

He teaches a wide variety of courses in Theology & Culture and Peace Studies and directs the Master of Arts in Theopoetics and Writing and the Certificate in Theopoetics and Theological Imagination programs, tracing through interdisciplinary scholarship the spiritual poetics of mystery, metaphor and meaning-making.

Holland has worked internationally with the World Council of Churches and the Historic Peace Churches in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas consulting, lecturing, doing field research and writing in the area of building cultures of peace informed by the ecumenical, interfaith and public paradigm of “Just Peace.”

He publishes in the areas of Theopoetics, Theology and Culture, Peace Studies and Anabaptist-Pietist Studies, and he is a former contributing editor of the journal Cross Currents.
