Nancy Sollenberger Heishman has been named part-time coordinator of the Spanish-Language Ministry Training Programs for the Brethren Academy for Ministerial Leadership, beginning July 22. She will administer the Seminario Biblico Anabautista Hispano (SeBAH-CoB) educational program, design and administer the new Spanish-language track of the Education for a Shared Ministry (EFSM) program, and work with various constituencies to provide leadership for Spanish-language ministry training programs.
Heishman has previously served as interim pastor of Cristo Nuestra Paz in New Carlisle, Ohio, and interim coordinator for the SeBAH-CoB program. As the mission co-coordinator for the Church of the Brethren in the Dominican Republic, she also served as director of theological education for Iglesia de los Hermanos en la Republica Dominicana. Heishman holds an MDiv from Bethany Theological Seminary and will continue to copastor the West Charleston Church of the Brethren in Tipp City, Ohio, with her husband, Irv.
“We are very pleased Nancy will be joining the Brethren Academy staff to share her gifts of pastoral administration and experience in ministry training,” said Julie M. Hostetter, executive director. “Her commitment to Christ and the church will undergird the expanded Spanish-language educational programs available to students, congregations, and districts.”
The Brethren Academy for Ministerial Leadership is a ministry training partnership of the Church of the Brethren and Bethany Theological Seminary. Each will contribute funds for this staff position, training programs, and resource and leadership development.
